• ABOUT ME

    Hi there!

My name is Phet Mae Rasgo-Pastrana, and a Social Media Marketer/ Content Writer/ Graphic Designer /& Project Manager. I give credit to my past for who I am today. Thus, let me walk you through my life story specifically my academic professional, and freelancing careers.

I am an Undergraduate of Juris Doctor of Law (2010-2013) and a Graduate of Bachelor of Science of Psychology in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (2006-2010).

Simultaneously, from October 2007 to December 2010, I became a Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman of Barangay 695, Zone 75, District V, City of Manila. Subsequently, by the year 2010 to 2017, I became an elected Barangay Councilor of the same. In addition to that responsibility, I was also the KABAKA Youth President in our Barangay 695 Chapter wherein, KABAKA as a non -government organization, helps people on the poverty line to improve their health, status, education as well as their manner of living. More so, from 2016-2018, I became the President of our High School Alumni Association spearheading the very first alumni get-together and fund-raising in our High School institution.

Having the above-stated positions especially on becoming a public servant, I had attended various seminars (Luzon and Visayas -based) in order to deal with first-hand matters involving community enhancement, leadership improvement, disaster risk and management, budget procurement, financial management, auditing, interior and local government standards, data collection and surveys on relevant information, barangay settlement, project launching, event organizing and others which were pertinent to the area of my responsibilities. My years in public service enhanced my interpersonal skills, my communication skills, and even my writing skills relevant to recording and to the filing of records and encoding which I believe could be helpful in the management of social media accounts and in the promotion of brands that might be assigned to me. Further, my responsibilities also taught me to solve problems that come my way and to critically yet passionately engage in dealing with those.

Moreover, I was a former Human Resource Trainee at North Sea Marine Service Corp. (V-Ships) by the year 2009 where I helped the organization with instilling of values, visions, ideals, norms, working language, and systems among fellow workers. On top of that, I helped with the recruitment of new hires, assisted in the review of benefits and payroll, participated in the mediation of conflict, and assisted in the engagement of the organization's training and development. These parts of training honed me to be a better member of a team and to work efficiently in the conduct of whatever duty and task I may be asked to do with an emphasis on ethical standards even in the virtual sense.

In addition to that, I was a Former Guidance and Counseling Trainee at La Consolacion College – Manila from December 2009 - January 2010 wherein I helped in assisting and advising students about academic and personal decisions. I have administered private counseling to students, conducted assessments on the ability and potential of students, and coordinated with fellow trainees and professionals regarding student matters. These I would say develop my interpersonal skillset that might be helpful in engaging with clients and their personalities.

Then, from October 28, 2017, to December 30, 2020, I became self-employed managing fish farms and closing deals with buyers for Bangus, catfish, crabs, prawns, etc. I also sold varieties of nuts, dilis, and kutkutin in a jar, especially for Boracay guests. These parts of my life help me to improve my buying and selling skills, and my marketing and advertising prowess wherein I have exhausted Facebook Marketplace, which was a pretty tough start to my online career.

Fast forward to today, I became a Team Supervisor at Philippine Statistics Authority for Census 2020, September 2020 - October 2020 on which during the 2020 Census of Philippine Housing and Population, I was able to manage and lead a team of enumerators on which I made sure that all pertinent matters was well communicated to the team so that they could apply it in the performance of their duties. I was able to motivate team members, was able to assess their performances, and was able to prepare periodic narrative reports relevant to our activities. What I have learned in team leadership would be vital whenever I have teams to deal with in the future.

Currently, I am managing Tea Time Food Corner, in Kalibo, Aklan - a small cafe that offers milk teas, snacks, and budget meals aside from the fact that I am also their social media marketer. In furtherance, my training in the Department of Information and Communications Technology helps me to upskill with the online trendsetting tools that can be serviceable on my end as well as in line with my future clients' objectives.

In today's age and time, the real competition that truly exists is the competition against the former state of who I am and what I am becoming. It is important that I challenge myself to be better and to be more of what I am as the day passed by. So that whenever the future Me looks back, she will appreciate the journey I had to take in order to reach my destination, and she will look back with pride that the past version of me did her part in order to grow and succeed. That includes the affairs of my future business partners and clients who will shake my hands and trust me for their brand.
